Wiki Loves Monuments 2012: the Swedish finalists

Vållehög, Södra Åkarp, Vellinge kommun, 1st Place, Wiki Loves Monuments 2012, Sweden.

With nearly 3,500 files uploaded in three categories (buildings, archaeological sites/monuments, and ships), Sweden is well represented in this year’s Wiki Loves Monuments photo contest. Not only have Sweden’s ten finalists been announced for the international competition, the top three have been chosen and can be seen here. From gorgeous coastlines to bacteria labs to celebrating the country’s storied nautical roots, Sweden’s four-member jury had their work cut out for them in selecting this year’s images, but they did a splendid job.

Make sure to check out all of the 2012 finalists here and check back here tomorrow, 3 December 2012, when we announce the overall grand prize photograph and the other top winners internationally.
