Those data is perfectly normal and was to be expected. It is unreasonable to be surprised that experienced editors slow down after a few years. But people change, their lives change. Those who became wikipedians while at college shift priorities to career and family after graduation.

We should see wikipedians as passing guests. And we should be comfortable with that. The basic idea of wikipedia always was that people add their knowledge. Once they did that, we need new people with new knowledge …

I have reason to believe that between 18% and 22% of Wikipedia administrators are living at below poverty levels of income. I ask that an official study of this be conducted.

Does this prove that closing article creation plainly makes us lose those articles and not encourage people to register? Or does it only reflect the lower need for new articles in general?
