Thanks everyone for such a warm (official) welcome to the Wikimedia community! Were I not en route to Wikimania I would have posted earlier. :-)

The partnerships position is newly created and will involve building relationships with both grant making foundations and like-minded organizations. The goal is to diversify and increase our funding resources, for one; of equal if not greater importance, we want to maximize our collective ability, with our peers, to share free knowledge!

In the short term, I will also be working with the new fundraising staff (Rebecca and Rand) to transition the fundraising program to a team effort in the key areas of Major Gifts, Community Gifts, Foundation Relations and Partnerships.

Welcome to the Wikimedia Foundation. I have just joined and I feel that I may have some interesting photos and facts to add to the foundation. I have worked as a photojournalist & a combat photographer with the military for 24 years. In fact, I have seen some of my photos posted in the Wikipedia free encyclopedia.

If there’s are any photo project I can help you with, let me know.
